This week I visited with Sarah Shelton-James of BWG Herbal Tea. Though I was already aware of her reputation for crafting exceptional tea blends, I had the pleasure of tasting them firsthand during my visit. Sarah’s expertise in creating herbal blends is truly remarkable—if there were a sommelier equivalent for tea, Sarah would be it. Her blends are not only delicious but also healing, made with the finest fresh herbs.
Sarah’s journey into the world of herbs began when she faced stress and anxiety from her demanding role as a Certified Veterinary Technician. An herbalist introduced her to Tulsi, and she quickly developed a deep passion for herbal remedies. This led her to share her teas at a local yoga studio where she taught. The positive reception there sparked the creation of BWG Herbal Tea, with “BWG” standing for Bloom With Grace.
Driven by a desire to support others through her teas, Sarah set out to promote self-care and wellness with each cup. To further this mission, she established BWG Herbal Farm, where she grows, dries, and processes her own ingredients. Initially focused on Tulsi, she has since expanded her farm to include a variety of herbs, a high tunnel, and even honeybees.
